A converted flint stable block set within the beautiful West Sussex countryside proved to be the ideal home for Neptune, a stylish interior and lifestyle brand, and one of our favourite design challenges.
We were thrilled to be approached by a local business that valued elegant design and quality materials as much as we do, and gladly accepted the task of designing and building the entrance, parking and main garden areas at their Chichester store.
A wide self-compacting and edged gravel path leads to the main garden, which is separated into four large segmented feature beds and planted with a sumptuous mix of tall prairie style grasses and delicate perennials. Additional pathways weave through tender stems of verbena before opening onto a verdant central lawn. This scheme is enhanced further by the flint work of the adjacent stable block and views through estate-style metal fencing to the paddock beyond.
Bordering the lawns are a large up-lit willow tree sympathetically shaped and sculpture, islands of seasonal evergreen planting punctuated by multi-stem silver birches. Directly outside the store we included a spacious natural stone terrace ideal for accommodating displays of Neptune’s range of outdoor furniture and entertaining.
